April 5th, 2011 Press realeaseEngineering contracts in China and in KoreaLitwin SA, acquired by the CITI Technologies Group in January 2010, has been awarded several Engineering, Procurement and Technology contracts (“EPT” contracts) based on its PROABD® technology for the production of a major chemical precursor for consumer goods and of one of the most demanded components used in automotive paintings.
Download the press release October 22nd, 2010High speed design in the rail industryThe Product Process Projects Branch teams achieved a high speed turn-key project in the rail industry. A new generation control line has been designed, achieved and installed on our customer’s production area within 15 weeks. This new line maximizes the use of the production tool, thanks to a new equipment enabling a record time of less than an hour to adapt to various trains sizes. Indeed, a “high speed” equipment! September 18th, 2010Inauguration of Auvers gas compressor station On Saturday September 18, was held at the Auvers-le-Hamon (France), the inauguration of the last OSCAR1 site in the presence of Sablé MP, elected officials, representatives of GRTgaz, GDF Suez and partner companies, especially Litwin and its main subcontractors. The compressor station of Auvers-le-Hamon is a facility of 2 × 10 MW and a capacity of 2 x 1 million Nm3 / h. It can recompress the gas in the artery of Maine (diameter: 900 mm) towards or from Paris, for example to meet the needs of Brittany in case the gas terminal of Montoir wouldn't be in operation. The commissioning of the 5 OSCAR 1compressor stations responds to environmental demands: it reduces by 10 the emissions of NOx from the existing GRTgaz facilities. In addition, the site of Auvers-le-Hamon very significantly decreases noise pollution thanks to the choice of electric drive motors instead of gas turbines.
This new successful project provides further evidence of Litwin's technical expertise and operational excellence in the project management of EPCs, large industrial projects.
September 10th, 2010Litwin presents the PROABD® process at the BIWIC conference in GermanyLitwin is regularly present at the BIWIC conference, the "International Workshop on Industrial Crystallization" originally organised in the city of Bremen, Germany. This yearly scientific event is mainly organised by academic stakeholders of cities hosting a university active in the field of crystallisation. It brings together scientists and engineers from academia and industry, to present and discuss their current work through conferences and booths. Thus, in 2009, Litwin has participated actively in BIWIC with an oral presentation on the modelling of static crystallisation of naphthalene. This year, around 80 people from forty countries (Europe, Americas and Asia-Pacific) attended the BIWIC, which was hosted in the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. Two thirds of them came from the academic research world while the other third came from industry. Litwin was represented by Laura Kurz, an expert process engineer in the field of crystallisation and computational modelling, who explained the PROABD® processes and Litwin expertise to BIWIC delegates coming to the Litwin booth. Participating to the BIWIC conference brought, as it usually does, many interesting contacts and an insider deep understanding of market trends.
June 30th, 2010 Press releaseEngineering contract in China for a total value of €14 million
Litwin SA, acquired by the CITI Technologies Group in January 2010, has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Technology contract (“EPT” contract) based on its PROABD® coal tar distillation technology.
The contract has been awarded by Shatung (Taixing) Chemical Company Ltd, a joint-venture of the Shagang Group, China largest private steel producer, and Ho Tung Chemical Corp., an investment company based in Taïwan with a wide presence in South-Eastern Asia, China and USA.
June 8th, 2010CITI-ZEN, the innovative concept car of the Product Process Projects BranchThe CITI Technologies Group has brought together the whole sets of automative Research and Innovation issues into the CITI-ZEN concept car. It is an urban and peri-urban vehicle which is handy, multi-purpose and marketed for a large public range. Centered on safety and on performance, this vehicle is using innovative technical solutions in terms of packaging, of traction chain, of ground suspension link … by using high performances bio-composite materials, an optimized electrical engine block, … June 2nd, 2010Inauguration of Nozay gas compressor station Located between Rennes and Nantes, Nozay gas compressor station is the first station upgraded according to GRTgaz network modernization program OSCAR. Its capacity: 2 x 11 MW turbo-compressors and 2 x 1 000 000 Nm3/h. According to GRTgaz specifications and requirements, Litwin paid particular attention to the environmental aspects and to the performance of those new stations. After the studies and the engineering and construction phase, which was achieved in December 20009, the new station has passed the endurance and performance tests and the operational reception has been obtained on December 8th, 2009. May 27th, 2010Inauguration of Evry gas compressor stationEquipped with two electro-compressors (7 MW each), the new compressor station of Evry-Gregy has been inaugurated by GRTgaz on May 27th, 2010. It is the fifth station of GRTgaz network OSCAR 1 project (Optimization of the compressor stations and adaptation). Engineering, construction and commissioning of this station have been driven by Litwin, consortium leader of the group of companies in charge of the project. The brand new Evry station works continuously, due to its first importance role on the French gas transport network. GRTgaz congratulated Litwin for their efficiency, especially given the site difficulty concerning construction. Mr. Jean-Charles Fontan, Engineering Director of Litwin SA and Construction Director during the building period in 2009, warmly thanked all companies, partners and subcontractors who took part in the project, for their implication and their efficiency all along last year. Indeed, the very ambitious goal of operational reception in December 2009 has been reached. May 19th, 2010Inauguration of Dierrey-Saint-Julien gas compressor stationThe inauguration of Dierrey-Saint-Julien gas compressor station in the Aube region was held with the management team of GRTgaz and the mayor of the city attending the event on May 19th, 2010. On request of GRTgaz, Litwin has designed and led the construction of this station at state of the art technical and environmental level. Indeed, the 2 turbo-compressors (7 MW each) have been chosen for their most efficient technology as far as flue gas and environmental impact are concerned. May 4th, 2010Inauguration of Courthézon gas compressor stationThe official inauguration of Courthézon (South France) gas compressor station was held on May 4th, 2010 with the General Manager of GRTgaz, Mr. Boucly, attending the event. This station is part of Oscar 1 project awarded in December 2006 to a consortium of companies led by Litwin. Oscar 1 project represents 50,000 hours for studies in Litwin Engineering Facilities in Rueil-Malmaison and 250,000 hours of construction on site. The station is equipped with 2 electro-compressors (10.5 MW each), plus utilities (63 kV power, compressed air, flue gas treatment…). The operational commissioning of the station was occurred on December 4th, 2009. January 20th, 2010. Press releaseConsolidation in the engineering sectorThe CITI Technologies Group, which was created in October 2009, acquires 100% of Litwin SA, as third acquisition in the engineering industry.
